nice for the price
By hydro from Florence, OR on 8/26/2010
Pros:
Comfortable
Cons:
Long foot
Best Uses:
Daily Use
Describe Yourself:
Arthritic, Diabetic, Elderly
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Compression Socks:

These are thin but give good compression. I would be very pleased if the foot wasn't so long. There is a nice toe area so your toes aren't squashed but it hangs completely beyond the end of my toes. I wear a size 9 shoe so my feet are normal length. These seem to be sized for men rather than women although I ordered a woman's size.

Best Uses:
Cold Weather, Daily Use, Home, Travel, Wet Weather
Describe Yourself:

Comments about Compression Socks:

They wear very well. Hint: wash in a mesh bag so they don't get tangled with other clothes in washer. Line dry - they don't stretch out from the heat. They will give you great support for a months and months. I wear them for work, on my feet all shift and like the loose toe for comfort in shoes of any type. I have 3 colors for all occasions when I wear slacks. Love them, good buy.

By HowardVerified Purchaser from Skokie, IL on 6/27/2010
Pros:
Comfortable
Best Uses:
Daily Use
Describe Yourself:
Elderly, Long Term User
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Compression Socks:

For several years I have been wearing 20 – 30 moderate medical compression, open toe, over the calf stockings, with regular calf-length stockings over them. The medical stockings run over $70 for a pair. I had been in the habit of daily alternating between two pair, and replacing one pair a year. Your compression stockings seem to be equally effective, comfortable and easier to put on. Only with time will I know how frequently I will need to replace them.

Describe Yourself:
Short Term User
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Compression Socks:

I put my support socks on first thing in the morning to prevent swelling. If I don't wear them I see a definite increase in swelling. They are comfortable enough that I usually forget I am wearing them except when they occasionally (once or twice a day) band a little at the ankle. I can readjust the fit and continue wearing them. Because I have Ladies size 11 shoe I tried the men't size first. Unfortunately the legs were so long I had to fold the tops down. So, I ordered the Ladies size and find the length much better, but still long (I'm 5'7", not short). I find that if I am careful not to pull too much as I put the leg part on I can get it just the right length. I find the toes a little bit tight, though. So far it doesn't get uncomfortable in the toes every day. I had difficulty finding support sox that fit, stay up, look nice and do the job. THESE are what I was looking for.

Comments about Compression Socks:

The compression socks are a great value for the price and work just as well as some more expensive ones that I have tried. I wear them daily for the phlebitis in my lower legs and the help with the swelling from being on my feet all day long. The only drawback about the socks is that they seem to wear thin on the bottom relatively fast.

Compression Stockings - A Real hit
By The Adventure DudeVerified Purchaser from San Diego, CA on 8/26/2009
Pros:
Comfortable
Best Uses:
Daily Use
Describe Yourself:
Long Term User
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Compression Socks:

I have very long toes for a size 12 foot, and an average size ankle. Unlike the Jobst compression stockings, the Dr. Leonards compression stockings have an expandable toe box - now my whole foot and ankle are comfortable. Between the ankle and knee, I found the Dr. Leonards compression stockings equally as comfortable as my $75 Jobst stockings. Because of the expandable toe box in the Dr. Leonards stockings, I can comfortably wear my compression stockings all day.The Jobst stockings my doctor prescribed did not have an expandable toe box. This results in compression of the toes, which becomes very painful after a few hours. The problem is that compression stockings are sized for the ankle circumference and the pattern makers have to guess an average foot size. By adding the expandable toe box, Dr Leonards stockings are able to accommodate a wider range of foot sizes

Comments about Compression Socks:

I use the compression socks everyday to keep the blood flowing thru my muscles. They are a bit warm in the summer heat. Also, the tops of them have a tendency to stretch out & treads come out, other than that they are helpful for my legs for circulation.

Just What the Doctor Ordered
By mbsentryVerified Purchaser from San Francisco, CA on 8/13/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Durable, Quality Materials
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Compression Socks:

I bought these to try because swelling in my legs, feet and ankles has become a daily problem. I'd tried another brand from Dr. L's catalog and wasn't happy, but the exchange was easy and this alternate pair is perfect. I'm a secretary and sit a lot during the day, I don't get near enough exercise, and have had problems with swelling since I turned 50. These are very firm compression, but not too tight, and they definitely keep my swelling down. I have large calves and the XL fit well, but I turn down the top to give myself a wide band that doesn't cut circulation at the top of my calf. I liked them so well, I bought 3 more pair, and they are consistent in quality. I'll buy these again after I wear out the first ones.

Comments about Compression Socks:

I developed phlebitis after being struck by an automobile back in 1973. I was told I'd have to wear those thick, unsightly elastic stockings you can only buy at a medical supply place. I was 23 when that happened so needless to say, the elastic socks vanished. I'm now 59 and when I saw these, I wondered...and bought. I am glad; they keep my circulation moving right along.

Comparable quality to compression socks that cost twice as much. Black, white and navy are great, but the tan color is weird.

Comments about Compression Socks:

I purchased these socks for my brother who is on his feet all night long and he loves them. He has an ulcer on his ankle and was wearing expensive medical hose and his ankle could not get air with these thick stockings on. So i decided to order him 3 pair of your Compression Socks and he has worn them to work and now his ankle is looking better because these are breathable and he says his legs feel much better also. I want to thank Dr. Leonard for having these i will be ordering more for my brother in the future and you can't beat the price for medical hosiery. They are light weight but provide the support you need without your feet sweating all the time as they did in those thick and expensive hose. Thanks again Dr. Leonard and if anyone needs support for there legs men and women these are the ones to buy.

The order was actually for Hezekiah May not Julietta Henry.

I ordered the compression socks for my dad because we had been paying so much more for them at the drugstore. I was able to get the three pair from Dr. Leonards for the same price. Plus it afforded us a variety of color.

Comments about Compression Socks:

I was having problems with what felt like pins and needles from my knees down to my toes. Doctor thought that I might possibly be diabetic as this happens quite frequently to diabetics. But after twice being tested, once with fasting and once without fasting, I was negative for diabetes. My chiropractor suggested that I purchase a pair of compression socks. I bought three pair from Dr. Leonards. I within forty-eight hours had complete relief, I then purchase two more pair and will in the near future be buying more.

Comments about Compression Socks:

I recently ran my first marathon at 55 and bought some sport compressions socks for 5 xs as much. They wore out after 3 times in the laundry and did not work half as well as yours. But they were warmer in the winter than yours. I am sending a pair to my daughter who is a Dr. and on her feet all day. Like the roomy toe area....it does not smudge your pedicure. Looks like regular hose or socks under socks.
