I have thin and long hair which these combs hold my hair. I was suprised that the combs worked on my hair. I have used these in different styles. The combs do not hurt my head when I sleep in them, and I use them because the temperature out here has been 103 degrees.

The ends of the wire are too blunt to effectively stay in my hair - so I crimped them with pliers.

It does hold hair out of the way and it is pretty. But easy to insert it so that it gives you a headache from pulling the hair too tightly.
