WE have not test them yet and plan to in Sept when the weather is not too hot before we try it
Comments about Topsy Turvy® Tomato Planter:
It seems with all the heat and no rain in our area these may be the only way we are able to grow any tomatoes this year. These are easy to keep watered and have a bit of shade under the eaves of the houseroof. Our soil is so very hot one cannot stand outdoors long. The plants are growing quickly and look great. I did have a bit of trouble getting my husband started by putting them up but once he got started it went quickly.

Comments about Topsy Turvy® Tomato Planter:
Usually, plants die if I breathe near them. However, I won a tomato plant at work and I put it in the Topsy Turvey. It is still growing... I haven't seen blooms yet, but it's not dead. It was pretty easy to set up but it is really heavy once you add soil, so get it hung where you really want it before filling with soil. You won't want to try to move it once it's full.
Comments about Topsy Turvy® Tomato Planter:
Be sure to use a strong hanger, this does get heavy with the soil.

I need a pull-down hanger strong enough to hold the Topsy Turvy when loaded with fruit. I have to hang it from the eaves. Can you help? Veta[@]

Sounds like a great idea. get your plant off the ground, use for apts., keep away from pets, but does it work??? Lets just face it. Tomatoes still want to grow up. They want to grow towards the sun. The plant curled up so hard it looked like it was hurting. What tomatoes did appear were very small and I used miracle grow. While planting, the container got so heavy my husband had to lift it for me.They are not kidding when they say to hang it on something very strong. I would not waste my money on this invention.

I live in the South. This year I had tomatoes until the unusual cold in Jan. Most of the time I will be able to use it year round.I put one Beefsteak and one cherry tomato plant in it. I love it. The vines did get spindly after time. I just pruned it and it came out all bushy and full of blossoms.

Comments about Topsy Turvy® Tomato Planter:
It was able to hold a large beautiful plant-
Plant came back next day from replanting-
With soil was hard for me to lift to bolt on deck-
Wires are rough on fingers when you try to lift to it's position-
Don't try to take down--use footstool to climb up to water it.

I started doing this 15 years ago using an old icing bucket from a bakery. I cut a hole in the bottom just big enough for a plant and filled the bucket 3/4 way with potting soil and hung it from my patio. I also have done this with pepper plants or just about any other garden produce that applies. So yes, they work. But I prefer the cheaper method and just color the bucket with permanet markers of different colors to spruce it up.

Comments about Topsy Turvy® Tomato Planter:
A mail-order tomato plant I also bought from another company at the same time as the Topsy didn't travel well in the mail, but a purchase of a good one at local store is growing now amazingly fast. I have the Topsy planter indoors hanging down low from a hook high up in the ceiling, supported by a dog-leash chain. The container is only half filled with potting soil. I believe fully filled would make it far too heavy for the ceiling hook. I have it hanging inside a south facing sliding glass door window, with a clear plastic over-flow-plate (sold for pots) lying underneath on the floor. Will be quite a while before I can expect to see any blossoms, but I'm betting I will be seeing a bunch. The fast growing vines are thick. Some reach two feet to the floor, but all hook bent upwards, and all leaves are turned around up toward the light. The tomato plant, obviously, does not mind being upside down at all. When there is fruit, it can rest on the carpet. Won't need any kind of stakes or climbing ladder to support the branches whatsoever. What a concept! Why wasn't this amazing unconventional idea thought of long ago?
One bad thing about the Topsy is the that the support wires have a poorly designed and manufactured crimp connection.... and I had to rebuild one before I could even use the thing. So.... be careful with them.

Topsy Turvy Tomatoe Planter is an innovative way of planting fruit and vegetables, you can hang the planter outside or on a deck or screened porch. You don't have to worry about bugs and insects and it grows quickly. You need a stand or someplace to hang the plant in a sunny location.
