I am an RN. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about a year and a half ago. I started having occasional problems with edema in my ankles and feet shortly after my diagnosis, but they only lasted for a day or so and then would go away for several months. About six months ago I started having severe problems with edema in my feet and ankles going all the way up to my knees. The tops of my feet were so painfull that it hurt to touch them, and I couldn't wear most of my shoes. I saw these compression socks in the catalog and thought I would give them a try. I wear them every day, and I LOVE them. The edema in my legs and feet is completely gone now. You can see the bones in my ankles again! The pain is gone too. All of my shoes fit again. I can even go without them for a day or two on the weekend if I decide to stay home and lounge in my PJs. I love the fact that they come in beige and black so they look like knee high nylon stockings under my pants. I bought some of the thigh highs too, and I wear them with my dresses/skirts. They look just like nylons. I wash them in the washing machine on cold and then hang them to dry to protect the elastic compression and make them last longer. Excessive heat will ruin the elastic and the socks won't last as long. I'm so glad I found these compression socks at such an affordable price. I came back and bought more so I'll always have enough to wear a pair every day even when I'm traveling and can't get them washed and dried in time. I have already recommended these to several people both professionally and personally. The BEST part: the severe pain from the edema is GONE!!

Even though I measured my calf size, these stockings werent long enough to reach under my knee so my circulation felt as if it was comprimsed around my calf.

The heels and toes are not reinforced and run and get holes in them very easily in the past they were made much better. Needs improvement in quality and wear.
